The Stone Center for the Performing Arts is a state of the art performance center located inside the Wilkes County School's Central Office in North Wilkesboro, NC. The 8000 sq. ft., center provides performance, banquet, dance and meeting space for the 10,000 public school students of Wilkes County.

The Center opened in May 2006 honoring the Larry Stone Family after he provided a substantial gift to the center. Mr. Stone is the President and Chief Operating Officer for the Lowe's Home Improvement Stores and is a native and resident of Wilkes County.

The Stone Center accommodates 280 people in banquet style seating and 560 people in theater seating. It has a full service kitchen, catering to special events and meetings. A state-of-the-art sound and light system provides a professional presentation and training for students. The Central Office also holds a large art gallery displaying the work of students in grades K-12.
